
Sylvie-Ann Paré
An administrator from the cooperative and community sector, Gilles Savary has been active in dance for nearly 30 years. From 1987 to 1991, he served as Acting Administrative Director of O Vertigo before taking on responsibility for tour management. Since then, he has been Executive Director of Fortier Danse-Création.
His commitment to the discipline has led him to serve on the boards of several dance organizations: Diagramme Gestion culturelle (1992–1995), the Regroupement québécois de la danse (1995–1999), Agora de la danse (1998–2005), and the Canadian Dance Assembly (2008–2012). He is one of the founding members of La Danse sur les routes du Québec and sat on its board from 2000 to 2006. It was at his initiative that Fortier Danse-Création joined Circuit-Est centre chorégraphique in 1998. Deeply involved in the development of Circuit-Est, he has served on its board since 2001. He has also taken part in various committees of the Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.

Through his generosity, tenacity, and exemplary dedication to the dance community, Gilles Savary stands as a role model for young people aspiring to a career in arts management.
