Becs&Plumes - VeroB
A pioneer of integrated dance in Québec, France Geoffroy has been dancing in a wheelchair for over 20 years and is a passionate advocate for the artistic development of people with disabilities. In 2000, she co-founded Corpuscule Danse, where she serves as both General and Artistic Director. She teaches and creates performances with children, teenagers, and adults, and is also active as a performer, consultant, and lecturer.
Since her beginnings in 1994, France Geoffroy has built a rich and eclectic career. She has danced for choreographers such as Johanne Madore, Estelle Clareton, John Ottmann, Benoît Lachambre, Hélène Langevin, and Chantal Lamirande, among others. Her artistic approach focuses on the aesthetics and movement possibilities of the atypical body, using physical constraints as a starting point but never as a limitation. For her, dancing and making others dance remains the priority. She has played a major role in proving that a dancer in a wheelchair is, above all… a dancer.
